Adam Benjamin Backround etc.
The Adam Benjamin Info Page
Adam auditioned for Ear 2000 in June 1998 and starting playing with them shortly after that. He went to Spain and France with the band and has played lots of gigs in and around LA.
Adam is a senior at CalArts, majoring in jazz and music composition. He did his first two years of college at the Eastman School of Music (one of the most prestigious in the country) but wanted a little more freedom than the typical music conservatory. Two of his jazz profs at Eastman were graduates of CalArts, Mike Kane and Ralph Alessi, both recorded jazz musicians.
Adam has literally been playing the piano since he was 3-1/2 years old ... we had gone to a friends home for dinner, they had a piano and he sounded out all the music he was familiar with, Sesame Street, Twinkle-Twinkle, etc. So we sent for my piano to be shipped where we were living at the time, which was Rochester, NY
When Adam was ten years old we moved to Pittsburgh and Adam was actively writing music. Two of his compositions (classical) were played at the Three Rivers Arts Festival by a concert pianist. He was the youngest composer who had ever had music played at the Festival. He also wrote a great song for his class, fifth grade, which was performed all over the entire school district. (Makes a mom proud)
Adam has been recorded at the Eastman School and was on last year's CD put out by CalArts. Personal facts: Adam is 21 years old, a really caring and giving guy, he has an older brother who last year got his PhD from UCLA (who also plays music-but just as a hobby), we are a close knit family who have always had dogs. My wish: someday that EAR will play one of Adam's compositions (which is different from the music they now play) and that Adam find happiness doing his music.
Thanks for setting up such a great site.

Thankyou Mrs. Benjamin!
Adams mom also related to me that Adam says David Arquette is a really great down-to-earth- guy.
